3-D Design Studio

Design with Purpose Grades 5-8

3-D Design Studio

Does your camper love to design, create, and build? Are they curious about how things are made? Our 3-D Design Studio program provides campers the opportunity with fueled imagination to create sculptures, dwellings, models, and other purposeful objects. Campers will learn the foundational process to explore their ideas in 3 dimensions by experimenting with materials, tools, and creative thought. Instruction will cover how to use a range of sourced materials, tools, and techniques in the intersection of design, craft, and building things that they can use. Let’s make something!

What’s in a day?

Early in the week, each team will meet their assigned family and learn about the unique needs of their “little driver” and then be guided by physical therapists from Peak Pediatric Physical Therapy as they develop their specific designs. Then they’ll head into the design studio to rewire the car’s electrical system, develop unique supports and harnesses, and hack the accelerator and ignition. By the end of the week, the little drivers will speed off in their very own car, able to zoom around and play in new ways. Campers will develop teamwork, empathy, and engineering skills as they spend the week building more than just a car.

Wild about Science

Design with Purpose Grades 5-7

Wild about Science

Looking for an opportunity to nurture your camper’s sense of wonder? Join us for a dynamic week of exploration where campers will discover a different science each day. Campers will learn key concepts and then engage in curiosity-fueling experiments and games that will be sure to further ignite their interests through inquiry-based learning. A new science adventure awaits your camper each day. The week culminates in an off-site excursion where campers will travel with their group and expert counselors to apply newly gained knowledge and experience science “in the field”. We’re sure that they will be “wild about science”!

And, if your camper is certain that they want to take a deeper dive into a particular branch of science, join us for a second week where the group will focus on 1 branch for the entire week. We call this in-depth experience “MORE Wild about Science: DEEP SPACE DISCOVERY”!

This season, the program will be offered in the following sequence:

Week 3 – Wild about Science

Week 4 – MORE Wild about Science: DEEP SPACE DISCOVERY

Week 5 – Wild about Science (same program sequence as Week 3)

Kids know it, we have to take care of our planet. Kids also know we are facing many environmental issues that may put our health, our homes, and our communities at risk. So how do we grow their spirit of innovation and sense of responsibility to address issues in our world? Building, creating, and engaging one’s sense of wonder to address a real-world challenge to imagine a solution, product, or experience that positively impacts the community is a great start!
